The Ramblers' Association is a
registered charity (no. 306089) which promotes walking, protects rights of
way, campaigns for access to open country, and defends the beauty of the
countryside.
The Shropshire Area is made up of local Ramblers' groups that cover a
variety of excellent areas for walking in this historic English county that
borders Wales. Ramblers are represented on the County Council's Countryside
Recreation Advisory Group and on the Joint Advisory Committee of the
Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Click here for Shropshire Map
Shropshire Ramblers are involved in the following activities:

Walks Programme. Walks are
organised throughout the year in Shropshire and the surrounding English
counties as well as Powys to the west,, from gentle strolls to strenuous
hill walks - half days, whole days, weekends and summer evenings.
Non-members (including visitors to the area) are welcome to come along for
up to two walks before they are expected to join the RA.

Events. Every year we
participate in various special events co-ordinated by the RA national
office, such as Festivals of Summer and Winter Walks. This page gives you
up-to-date information on our plans.
